This is absolutely beautiful.  I too like the auto dimmer, a feature that is period correct and adds a sparkle to the car. I have that feature on my 1:1 Convertible Lincoln (a '62) but mine is mounted in the center of the dash above the radio. I've never checked to see if it works.

As I mentioned before, it was spotty (sometimes erratic) in operation. Also, my '57 Chevy sensor appeared to be a bit smaller that the one shown of the Caddy model. 

Just for giggles, you might want to test yours (on the 1:1) out, unless you're concerned about the age and possible harm that might be incurred.
