GlennP Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Just curious if anyone has seen a 1977 Pontiac lemans or even a Can am body .
george 53 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Check with Ron Andrews of RMR resin. He has the Can-Am.
disabled modeler Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Larry...Oh very nice..! We once owned these... Can Am Grand Am 75 TA 74 GTO Id love to be able to make replicas of them...are these based on the Johan 75 Cutlass body..?
DoctorLarry Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Mark: yes they were. I am finishing a 73 Buick Gran Sport and 76 Buick Century Indy 500 Pace Car then my next project is a 74 GTO.

yellowsportwagon Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Larry you have any pictures of the Buicks? I would be interested in them.
DoctorLarry Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Tim, I have two posts with pictures; Buick Brothers and 76 Century Project. Here is the 76 almost done:
yellowsportwagon Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 If you cast this I am interested. Question will the roof overlay be molded on or separate?

DoctorLarry Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Tim: Right now the overlay is glued on. I intend to cast the hood and bumpers separate from the body so the spoilers, hood bump and roof band could be sanded off. It's just a lot easier to visualize everything if they are glued on. Mark, thanks. I did not build that-a guy on the board bought one and did it. He also built one of my Grand Prix kits.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Larry you should do the other roofline Century too. Or maybe Regal!
DoctorLarry Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Once I get the pace car done, swapping roofs will be pretty easy!
DoctorLarry Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 You wanting to do the Lennie Pond Regal?

I grew up with Pontiacs in the family..LOL.. we owned some really nice ones id love to be able to make replicas of someday...finding / affording them or the stuff to do them is the biggest challenge. Ether way very nice work on the resins Larry.

The only Earnhardt car I’m interested in because it is a Buick. He drove one with the Monte roofline most of the others were the slopey back roof.
DoctorLarry Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Got a picture for me? I can graft the Cutlass roof onto one of the resin copies and then fill in the triangle windows to have the formal opera window. I did that for a guy who had an opera window Grand Am. I re-did one of the resins with an opera window for him. LB
yellowsportwagon Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Larry the roofline in the Pace car is cool with me
yellowsportwagon Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Here’s a pic of Earnhardt. Has the same roof as Your pace car
DoctorLarry Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I saw these decals on EBAY-looks like the regular roofline.
DoctorLarry Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 here's the one I mentioned. Definitely the standard roof with opera window.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Here’s more standard roof cars. I wouldn’t waste another cutlass roof on this I would cut the back half of a reissue MPC NASCAR Laguna roof off. The qtr window is already the right shape just needs the louvers removed.
DoctorLarry Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I have two Cutlass roofs I cut off of other projects in my spare parts bin...
