Hammerdown Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 (edited) Built this simple Model T hot rod for display purposes. I also produced some antique gas pumps to add to the display. Cars chassis is square PVC pipe, the body and engine block are made of foam core. The injectors, headers, windshield frame and axle are PVC. The valve covers are wallpapering trays turned upside down. Real tires and wheels and steering wheel, with a bench seat from a school bus. Edited February 1, 2018 by Hammerdown Added photo
BigTallDad Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Huh? A full size replica is not a model, or am I missing something?

Actually, that would indeed be a 1:1 scale model. But what does this have to do with the second photo? And, when was this built & photographed?
unclescott58 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Kool! I like it. I would have gone nuts for something like that in my early teens, before I got my first driver's license. Heck, it would still be fun to have.
Hammerdown Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 It was built in 1991 and is indeed a 1:1 scratch built model. The second photo shows it being used as a photo prop at a special event featuring Elvis, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison look a like performers.
vintagercr Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Question, if it was built in 1991, didn't Elvis die in 1977?
ratdoggy Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I thought 1:16 was a large scale...Hope you have some pretty big display cabinets

vintagercr Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Ah that makes sense. The Elvis impersonator looks just like him. Not sure about Roy Orbison
