BeakDoc Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I’m Chris. I’m a former U.S. Marine who was born and raised in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. Currently, I live and work in Atlanta. I got back into this hobby that I loved as a kid after 25 years away about six months ago and everytime I sit down at the bench I wonder why I waited so long to pick it back up. My heart is with American muscle cars although from time to time I will sprinkle in a supercar or hot rod as a pallet cleanser. I love old Fairlanes, Impalas, GTOs, Galaxies, Cyclones, Cougars and 4-4-2s, etc; but Mopar is ingrained in my DNA. For my money there are no cars sexier than 2nd gen Chargers or E-body Barracudas. Anywho, I’ve been perusing the forum for a couple weeks and decided it was time to make an introduction. I’ve really been digging “On The Workbench.” The amount of effort, work and craftsmanship I’ve seen you fine folks put into builds, restorations and reclamations is astonishing and inspiring. I’m focusing on box-stock-ish builds until I feel I’ve knocked off all the rust but I already have a couple ideas for some kit-bashed putty-bombs. I look forward to conversing with and learning from all of you and will be posting some photos soon.

Ace-Garageguy Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Welcome Chris. Since you're in Atlanta, you ought to check out ACME (Atlanta Car Model Enthusiasts). It's a very active club with several certified wizards as members, and they put on a great annual NNL-style show every November. http://www.acme-ipms.com/welcome-to-acme

One wagon build I’ve always thought would be really cool is the Wagon Queen Family Truckster from National Lampoon’s Vacation. Only instead of one build it would actually be 3 or 4 builds of the same car in the different stages of disintegration as the movie progressed. One of which, of course, would have to have the empty dog collar leashed to the rear bumper. Thanks for the warm welcome, dm and everyone else. Live long and Mopar.

I got a chance to browse the site a bit. Very cool stuff. I’m definitely gonna try to make a meeting to check things out in person.
