Stingray69 Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I started this one about a month ago, some of you may have noticed it on my website. Its a reissue of Revell's Heavy Hugger F/C. Overall the kit is very well detailed but the body lacks accuracy. The roof just isn't accuracte... Looks like the A pillars were laid back or something. Anyway I took the roof from an AMT 70 Camaro and with a little cutting and puttying the body is done. For some reason the engine is a Ford as well, I'll replace that later. I plan on doing minor detailing, nothing wild. Whos F/C it will be is still to be decided. Orginal Body: Modified Body: Quick Mock Up: Primered: Sure beat paying $30 for a resin body! I'll try to keep it updated...
Stingray69 Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Here's an update. I was at a loss for an engine so I ordered a Ross Gibson Chevy F/C engine. I also got the frame together and painted and got the suspension in place. Not much left. I'm not going to go overkill on detail, probably just some fuel and oil lines later. I may go ahead and finish this one up before I'm done with the pro mod.
BIGTRUCK Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Tommy shapin' up real nice... thought any on the color?
Stingray69 Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Not really sure yet on a color, not even sure whos f/c it will be! I was thinking about Hugger Orange for the color but I also was thinking about Le Mans blue...
Stingray69 Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Yeah its a split bumper! I actually thought about replicating the Fred Gibb Camaro...
Eric C Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 This is coming along very well. The body and roof line look much better. Chassis and engine look great too.
ismaelg Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Very cool project! It's coming along really nice. The roof is a vast improvement. That's a subject you don't see very often. Thanks,
Wildrice Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Looking good Tommy. Very nice improvement to the body.
Dave Toups Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Nice job sor far! The roof improves the looks of that body 100%!
rattle can man Posted April 17 Posted April 17 My build will retain the cammer. It takes a Ford to get a Chevy to move!
