It seems that I found another hard one.  Come on guys whats wrong with the car? It is a sports car from southern Europe and with  technique from the european subsidary of one of the big three

Took some digging but I zeroed in on what it is. I also found it in one of the strangest places! Won't tell you where till after the fact though!

I was asking all the right questions in my search, Taunus engine, backbone chassis, Italian manufacturer, red coupe, the lot, came up with nothing until Michael gave us the Scaglione clue. I still don’t think it is his best work, but hey ho.
