Anyone else having a problem getting their order from Scale Finishes? I placed an order June 2nd and received a pre-shipment notice on June 18th. There has been no product or tracking history since. Tried emailing him at scalefinishes@gmail.com  and at Jameston.Kroon@gmail.com and got no responses.

I was stupid and placed an order with Gravity Colors May 2. After waiting a month for them and getting no product I thought I would try Scale Finishes. After 10 weeks I got my money back from Gravity thanks to Paypal. Now five weeks into Scale Finishes I'm thinking what's with these people. You take people's money on day of the order being placed. Then you take your time getting them the order. What pees me off the most is they won't communicate with you. My order says "shipped on 6/19". No tracking history. Where is it?

My last two orders have been 6 -8 weeks to get filled. No worries, he is busy and your stuff will arrive.

Two months. Unacceptable!! No response to emails. Plus posting a "pre-shipment label". Why not tell his customers of his delays either on his website or answer emails. Went to my local USPS today. Ask them to track it. They have no record of it leaving the address on the "pre-shipment label".

I sent an email to Scale Finishes, May 2, 2018 in regards to a color that was not right. It was way to dark. I sent pictures, and a copy of my order.

I have bought over $600 on paint from Scale Finishes, over the past few years.

As of today , still no reply.

Heard back from him,  he told me that all orders have been shipped and that he got help filling orders,   I am just passing on what I was told, I am just a messenger, any questions or comments should be directed towards him.

Received my order today.:D Looks like a quality product. I hope Jameston can get a system where it doesn't take 39 days to receive his product. I primed the body with Duplicolor White auto primer. What have you all used on your Menards cars for a primer? Going to do a spoon test before I spray the body.

I received my order yesterday as well. I have made several orders in the past and have never had a problem with any of his products. They all have been great!. Sometimes it takes a few weeks and then there are times it takes over a month. I have just gotten in the habit of ordering well before I need any of the paint. I actually placed another order with him today for builds that I probably wont get to until the end of the year. I am not defending any problems that he has had or not responding to emails, but I also think that we forget that this is probably not his full time job. I think that in the Amazon age, we expect things in two days or we are ready to pull our hair out. Maybe I have a soft spot because I own a small business, but I like his product so I am willing to wait for him to get to my order. I like model car garage products as well and have waited for them to arrive also.

I know I could also make an argument on the other side and say a business needs to be quick and respond to there customers, but at the end of the day this is a hobby to me and if I have to wait a bit I can find a thousand things to do in the mean time.

If you are painting any type of florescent or neon color the base coat or primer coat needs to be white.

I agree. I appreciate that Scalefinishes is around and don't wish his business wrong and will order again. But this day of hacks and rip offs I get nervous when it takes so long and there is no communication.  The shipping was super fast (less than 3 days) from Utah to PA. I apologize if this post came off as a rant. Wasn't meant to be.

Disclaimer-Some may know this,  but Jameston and myself have a partnership/sponsorship agreement in place for my Youtube channel.

First, the positive

Scalefinishes offers a great a product and is one the few that does on demand paint mixing,  which is such an awesome thing that he offers,  and without that would be leave a very big void in the hobby.   Jameston is a decent guy, and will never set out to rip anyone off, he has always done me right and I stand behind his products, I would say that without the sponsorship for my Youtube channel.

So now the negative,  he needs to work on his customer service, I agree with everyone that is upset, Ive been in that boat with you guys, and it sucks,  my last order took close to three months, I emailed him in February for a bunch of colors I needed mixed up, and finally got my order in April sometime I think it was.

He has told me that he knows he needs to get better at responding to emails and getting orders out faster and over all better customer service, I just spoke with him a few days ago( still waiting on a reply though) and he informed that he has someone to help fill orders and that should speed up the process.  I do generally think his trying to get things turned around.

He has a great product, and a decent guy,  and its up to you guys if you want to continue using his paints,  I understand that many dont want too , and that is totally understandable.

I don't have a dog in this fight as I have never ordered from Scale Finishes but having read about the issues raised in this post I will say this- customer service makes or breaks a company no matter how big or small. I am sure Jameston means well, and the idea of hiring someone to help sounds good, but it could be more difficult than you might think. Depending on how he set up his operation, adding someone might mean a ton of paperwork and filings with government agencies that would further delay his ability to ship orders.

Hopefully he can fix the issues plaguing his business and continue to offer quality product and service, we need as many companies as possible to keep our hobby thriving.

That is true. Hopefully he gets someone that is willing to work and everything goes well for him. I have ten employees, and there are times I think it would be so much less stressful if I just didn't have any of them. I will say, the added worker has really helped. I made an order about a week ago and it has already arrived. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.
