Tamiya 300SL hubcaps

I'm building the Tamiya 300SL and could use some advice on how to mask/ paint the hubcaps. I'm trying to us liquid mask/ trim with exacto. The liquid mask keeps rolling off of the high areas, which is what I'm trying to mask off.

Blue Stuff decals has a decal set that include decals and masks for the hubcaps and the dash. Most shops that sell them are out of stock, but if you search online you can find them.
