I’m currently building a 1950 Chevy using the AMT kit, however I’m using a resin cab with a chopped top.  What I’ve come upon is that I don’t have a clear glass to fit the chop top cab.

my question to anyone who can help is what suggestions or advice do you have for this chop top windshield, modify the standard kit one, scratch build one, or is there a resource to purchase from?

any help would be appreciated greatly.

The windshield is flat, so create a template.

Do you have any empty CD cases? Scratch-build the windshield, using them.

I think Im going to try to cut the molding trim from the top part of the windshield then remove the necessary amount of flat surface reattach the trim and make it fit the Resin cab opening.

It will be slow, tedious and delicate I'm sure.

This what half round stock is made for.

Check all packaging coming into your home. You're looking for something that has a flat clear cover over the products. This packaging is very thin and is easily cut to the size needed.
