Spruslayer Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) I am in the middle of this kit On top of the sleeper cab there is a round thing that kinda looks like it might be a light Its hard to see in this view but if you look between the drivers side exhaust and the cb antenna on the roof of the sleeper. Can you help a guy down on his luck Edited October 7, 2018 by Spruslayer spelling
Bucky Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Could that be a communications antenna? Maybe for GPS or satellite radio? Just guessing, here.
Bucky Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Here's one I found while looking around: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/110255-revell-kenworth-w900-lightning-express/
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 There were no GPS systems back in the day. I'm pretty sure that's a vent. The aerodyne had a roof fan and vent assembly, kind of like an attic fan. Here's an inside view.
Spruslayer Posted October 7, 2018 Author Posted October 7, 2018 Thanks brian! My quandary was that if it was a light i was going to paint it,but now it shalt remain body color Back to the bench!
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I'm pretty sure that I've seen them polished as well as painted. I don't get to see the roof too much.
SpreadAxle Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I always thought that was a vent but I wasn't sure. Thanks for posting the article. I love reading the articles from back then. Bucky, I'm curious to see where this goes as the W900 Aerodyne has always been my favorite truck. The kit represents a '76-'81 and GPS tracking systems first showed on trucks in the late '80s.
