Brendan Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Look for a nail gun compressor. You can get them for under $100 and they last for several years. Some places like Harbor and Freight would carry them. There's no point in looking at name brands since the majority of the air compressors are the same whether they're a name brand or not. They usually carry the same warranty. Also look for an oiless motor compressor. That way you don't have oil being able to get into the air, which could ruin your paint.
Brian Fishburn Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I use a Craftsman 1.5 HP 2 gallon compressor and love it. Found it on sale for a hundred bucks, and it's already lasted longer than all of my 130-150 dollar "hobby" compressors put together.
tabsscale1 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I use a small 2 gallon Campbell Hausfeld That I bought At Wally World for $70 That works great. It has a built in regulator. It is a little loud but just for a few minutes as it keeps up with some continuous use. They have a run silent modelbut the prices go up then. I think I have seen those models at Lowes.
Jeff Johnston Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I use the same one Todd uses and I also paid 70 bucks. I also blow up my kids bike tires and pool toys with it LOL Its very worth it and I've never had an issue.
