Andy Wyatt Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 There goes the neighborhood! Why don't you post some pics of your stuff Brian. For any of you who haven't seen Brians stuff...it's quite nice!
MonoPed Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 Since Andy asked.... 8) '29 Ford woody, with a real basswood body added to the Rat Rod pickup kit: '65 Corvette Stingray coupe built from the 80's issue Monogram kit: And since Andy is workin' on one, '64 Thunderbolt built from the street machine issue:
MonoPed Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 Wow, Brian... is that real wood? Yep :-) I cut the back half of the cab off, leaving the floor and about 6mm of the back wall in place. For the woody body, I drew up a set of build plans for the side and rear frames, then assembled them from 1/32" basswood like a Guillow's plane kit. The rear floor is a single piece of basswood, and the roof is .040" evergreen. All total, I cut and used 65 seperate pieces of basswood to build the body. The frame is natural, the inserts are lightly stained, and it is all covered with clear urethane. Brian
lordairgtar Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 That car is awsome with the wood body, plus I just love the Corvette. The T-bolt is really cool, too.
