I just picked up a pair of M&H pie crust slicks from an MPC '67 Charger, and they scale out to a six inch width.  So this question is for you other old timers out there--have you ever seen six inch wide slicks?  In my misspent youth in southern California we used to run cheater slicks to look "bad", but I don't remember anything narrower than seven inches.   What about the rest of you?

I also spent, or misspent many years in SoCal. The only Slicks we had were recaps and most were from Casler. The width usually depended on the width of the tire carcass and the ability of the recaper to put spacers in the mold. In the late '50's and early '60's 6" to 6&1/2" were about what you would get on an old 8.20x15 carcass.

As David says, early slicks were capped on large passenger car and smaller truck tire carcasses. A 6" wide slick would be perfectly plausible.

These treads are pretty narrow. Can't say for sure what the width is, but they're obviously on narrow rims too.

You're right, that roadster has some narrow slicks.  I stand corrected, and although in 1/25 my tires look really puny, at least I now have photographic evidence.  Thanks!
