StevenGuthmiller Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I have to say, I'm not big on customs, but this is one of the best I've seen! Clean and simple. So often we see cars chopped & channeled, front and rear ends modified, huge intakes sticking out of the hoods or worse yet, some God awful hood scoop, all wrapped up in some gaudy, tasteless color. With yours, it's absolutely classic and so well done. A simple nosing & decking, a tasteful Buick grille, a set of nice Chrome reverse wheels & white wall tires, (versus some horrible giant aftermarket wheels & rubber band tires) all wrapped in a gorgeous fiery red paint job. They don't get any better than this! I would be proud to put it in my garage! Phenomenal work ATHU!!!! Steve

I have an old Johan '55 Pontiac that I would like to do as a mild custom using the '55 Chevy guts and converting it into a convertible. This is exactly the kind of result I'm shooting for! Steve
Pete L. Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Great job, I especially like the interior !!!
Reuhkapelti2 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 (edited) I really like this Chevy too. I'm curious to know, what is that Blower on top of the 409? I have never seen that kind of blower before, 4 carburettors on the side. Is it called with some name? I'd like to see and read more info of it. Edited November 16, 2018 by Reuhkapelti2

I'm far from an expert but my best guess would be some kind of Roots type blower/supercharger like Scot or Italmeccanica which were popular in the 50's and 60's. Edited November 16, 2018 by ATHU
Reuhkapelti2 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Okay ATHU, thanks. Now I did some searching in the old interweb, and found some photos of a Latham supercharger. That one looks most likely the one you got under the hood. 4 carburetors on the side. Cool! Did that come with the kit or did you get it elsewhere? Looks like something I'm gonna scratch build some day. Found also a forum, where serious car builders were talking about the Latham superchargers. Great!
Cpt Tuttle Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Subtle customizing, not gone overboard. I like!
carmad1957 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 That's awesome! Did a great job with shakin things up a bit with those mods. Kudos to you ?
Mr mopar Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 For some reason I sure like this 57' Chevy , and the supercharger looks cool under that hood .might have to get me the Pepper shaker and do something with that lime green glass ?
