LS what?

What type of Corvette engine is this? Is it readily available?

Displacement unknown, but most LS engines look alike on the exterior. I would think any of the latest Camaro or Corvette kits would be a place to look. If you want the very best you should check out Fireball casting in the Aftermarket/Resin section.

Perhaps I should say that the photo was taken in 2008, so it has to be at least 10 years old.

What distinguishes most LS engines from each other visually, including the cast-iron Vortec versions in trucks and SUVs, is the plastic cosmetic covers on top, and the oil pan shape.

I would guess the covers in the photo are custom parts made for the application. (EDIT: WRONG  ) Not hard to do for a competent fabricator/tooling maker.

Under the cosmetic stuff, most of them look pretty much like this:

BUT...those cosmetic covers remind me of something I've seen. I'll put the query in my brain in the background. Maybe something useful will come out.

The engine cover is from a 2006 Pontiac GTO, polar lights made a kit of it, round2 released it not long ago

Does the Polar Lights kit have a detailed engine? Can't get a good enough picture anywhere.

The 2004 GTO "Rides" kit has what looks to be a detailed engine.

We got it down pat now LS1 GTO. A fellow on the SDC forum offered to put me in touch with the builder.
