kasteer Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Posted this a few weeks ago with bad/blurry pics. ... formerly Black T, now it's the FREAK! Just finished up this little monstrosity. Had to use the vid camera for pics because the wife has the nice dig camera with her in Argentina, so I'll end up snapping new pics when she gets back. But for now here's a peek into what I've been working on for the last month... Started with the Lindburgh Tall T model. Only used the body, front suspension and radiator from this kit. Tires/wheels from the AMT 34 Ford kit along with the flathead. Frame and floor board were hand made. It's hard to see in these pics but there's black-on-black scallops on the side (I like how these came out). Haven'y pit a license plate on it yet... but it'll have one when I re-shoot the pics. Well, here's the better pics. Thanks for looking. Eric
CB Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 you named it right, Eric. It do look freaky all sttretched out likt that, but still sumpin cool about it. I'd drive it--don't know ifn I could see over the radiator, but........
Joe Handley Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Very cool looking, love the suttle scallops too!
kasteer Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Thanks guys. Yeah, that radiator is pretty tall. I was looking at that and trying to visualize how you'd see where you're going. It would be difficult, but do-able...
Eshaver Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Eric I saw that kit at the Winsto Salen N C show this weekend. I was a little afaid to buy it after th fiasco with their supposed 1-24th scale Gremlin Grabber kit. Prices were a little high there simply because the hotel was a very upscale place to stay any how. Vendors had no choice but to reflect that because of what it was costing them to sell. I would be curious as to what you thoufght of the kit would you drop me a line or would some one else drop me a line as to their feelings on the whole kit? I like what you did on your rod , it looks very "Period Perfect" also old enough to remember such cars roaming the streets and drive -ins here too. Ed Shaver

Ed Shaver I started out planning on using most of the kit, but only ended up using the body, radiator and front end. Built or re-used everything else. The kit engine is smaller than the one in the pics with still decent detail. There's not a whole lot of detail in my opinion... then again, there's not a whole lot to the kit. It's pretty basic (maybe the 1:1 is the same, I don't know). For the cost of the kit I was a little let down.
