Console, or No Console

I'm kind of on the fence with the console on my '67 Ford Galaxie project, so I thought that I would pose the question to any of the big Ford gurus among us.

Does anyone know if a '67 Galaxie XL with the R code 427, 4 speed would have come with the console or not?

Or would it have been optional?

It seems that the console, and bucket seats, were standard equipment:

"The ’67 two-door hardtops appeared to be sleeker than the ’66 models, and the bucket seat/console equipped, V8-powered XLs remained in the line-up."

Yeah, I don't think it was until 1969 that Ford dropped the bucket seat/center console as standard equipment on the XL. I think you could delete it for a bench seat. Here is a link to the '67 brochure.
