Winter solstice (shortest day of the year)

BlaaaaaaYea happy winter solstice,the shortest day of the year,only about 5 hours of day light..And then we get to look forward to three long months of freezing cold and snowy weather,(well at least here on LI).Oh great,can't wait.Only positive thing,is that after today,the days get a little longer until the summer solstice on June 21st,when there is approximately 17 hours of day light.So have a happy winter u all

You'd never know it seeing the weather today! 64º out, and it feels like a mid spring day here in Central PA. Very weird with just Christmas just a few days away!

No worries though.....we'll get our share of nasty snowstorms soon enough!

I'm always happy to see the days get longer again. The lack of sunlight is hard to take here in the normally froze north woods of Minnesnowta. But like Bill's situation, it's been pretty nice around here lately. Not as nice as where he lives in Pennsylvania. 30s, and even some 40s here. And with very little, to no snow on the ground right now. Which is great for this time of year.
