Mr. Can Am Garage Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 The Corvette Guy a.k.a. The Corvette Guru. How in the heck do I detail the wheels that come in the Revell WoF release? Don't have any pics. of that wheel in any of my Corvette reference books.
MrObsessive Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Hey John.......Obviously I'm not Izzy........hehehe but I found these pics off the 'Bay......... Hope these help!
Stingray69 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I would just use the old "black wash" trick on them. Nice Vette BTW!
ismaelg Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 John, Those hubcaps were pretty much "solid" with slots only on the outer recess. Bill pics are good. Here is a close up that may help: A good old black wash should work. Hope this helps. Thanks,
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 OK. Been wicked busy since I asked but this is how it looks now. The interior is finished. No pics. yet. Hope to work on it/finish it over the weekend.
ismaelg Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Those wheelcovers look really good John! The car looks GREAT! If I may offer a suggestion if it is not too late: the tires are way too shiny. A light sanding on the tread will tone it down a bit. Just a suggestion. Thanks,
Wildrice Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Nice Vette. The color and the wheel details are nice .

Thanks, Ya know....the first thing I do with a new kit is sand the tread. I must have done that to it yet it doesn't look like it. I'll have to do something about that. Thanks for the kind words guys!
BIGTRUCK Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 John cool 'Vette , really love that color, I have a few painted Dupli-color that shade
MrObsessive Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Nice Job John! Hmmm........I don't have one of those in my stash..............I should try and find one. It's nice to see a '63 built with the standard hubcaps instead of the more common knockoffs.
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 A look inside before we see the outside. Revell's WoF '63 split rear window Corvette coupe. Painted Palomar Red from Rainbow IIRC. Badges done with Sharpies! There's no plate as it's going in the showroom. At least for now.

'Course, I realize you'll prolly have to do something extra to it.
Wildrice Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Good looking Vette. That is my fav body style of a Vette. Like the color.
ismaelg Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 It came out GREAT! I love it. Nice job John! Thanks,
