I started working on this one during down time on my 65 Custom Mustang.

I've made pretty good progress on it so I figured it was a good time to start a build page on it. Paint is a nail polish called "Buffy the Violet Slayer" over Rust-Oleum Dark Grey primer.

Wheels are painted Testors Bronze (a bit darker than I wanted).

Chassis parts are all painted. Just needs assembly finished. I'll be picking up some paint tonight for the interior.

Today I wet sanded the body to get rid of some imperfections and in preparation for another coat of clear. I also finished up the chassis, I then primed all of the interior parts and sprayed the seats and door panels the accent color.

Tomorrow I will spray the final clear coat and mask off the accent color areas in order to spray the black interior. More pics tomorrow.

I finished the interior and got the final coat of clear on. Once it hardens real good I'll buff and polish. I still need to mask and paint the glass and do a bit of final assembly. Not my best work by far but it will do for me.

Thanks. The color is brighter than I wanted but it will work. I have a few more of these Aoshima kits and I like the fact that that they go together pretty easily. I'll be building another pretty soon.

Got the body wet sanded with 6000 grit this morning. Moving on to 8000.

I have a problem that came up yesterday. I used "Press and Seal" to mask off the windshield for painting the black. When I removed the mask, I ended up with the pattern of the "P&S" on the glass. I pulled off the rest of the mask to try and clean the coating and start over. I had some 70% isopropyl alcohol on hand and gave it a try but it hasn't removed any of it. Should I try 91% or something else? Any ideas?

I soaked the windshield in warm soapy water all day today and took a toothbrush to it a few times. It still looks the same and feels just as sticky. I think tomorrow I will try using Sratch X and a cloth on it. If that doesn't work I guess I will have to polish it with some 4000, 6000 and 12000. I didn't want to do that because I don't want to lose any of the frosted texture. I may not have a choice. Perhaps if I tape off the textured area with Tamiya tape that will protect it enough and with the textured area getting painted black it may hide it enough.

I did manage to get the license plates and the grille emblem installed and the door/windshield seals painted. I also finished installing the rear wing.

All that is left is painting the glass, installing the glass, interior and side mirrors and gluing in the chassis. If the cleanup of the glass goes well tomorrow I should have this completed by Saturday.

You could try white spirits, or malt vinegar ( clear). Or as you day, polish... Good luck, the rest of the build was going so well

I actually polished it with Meguiar's Scratch X this morning and the garbage came right off. I am.back to square one and will be painting the areas on the glass by hand tonight. I can't believe how easily it came off with the Scratch X after all the effort I put into it with soap and water and with the alcohol.

Oh well. I won't be using the Press and Seal ever again.
