moparfarmer Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 When you polish your clear coat after 2000 and up wet sanding, use only soft flannel..T-shirts are made with different material with corseness in it so it will leave scratches..Flannel for sure, nice and soft to prevent scratching..
tbill Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 I use microfiber towels for polishing, they are cheap and washable

I notice the 2k cures soo hard, it’s dofficult to polish out the dust very well. I have tried a dremel, but it spins too fast. I think this is an extremely valid point. Anyone who uses 2k clear knows how hard it is to polish out scratches which is way harder than lacquer. A dremel is totally fine from my experience on 2k, but just doesn't quite get the job done with the compounds/pastes I have used in the past. More important is finding a paste aggressive enough to take out any scratches made in the wet sanding process. I personally nearly always don't wet sand, but sometimes you just have to. If anyone has used one that is aggressive enough, that would be great to hear about. I have been looking at Farecla G3. Thanks
Matt Bacon Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 That’s definitely why you don’t want to be sanding the whole of a car in 2K. I use skinny sanding sticks 800-4000 grit, a nail polisher stick, Meguiar’s Scratch X2.0 and finally Novus No.2. It sounds a lot, but since I’m only polishing a few dust spots out, I’m only covering a few 1/4” square areas of the surface... best, M.
