Here’s a truck I’ve been working on on and off for a couple years now. I would like to finish it soon. The front  five Alcoa wheels are from Don Mills that I Customized the rear are New Ray the decals were custom made for me several years ago. Enjoy the pics.

I decided to put a 370 cummins in this with a 13 speed tranny I also painted the tank bands with a chrome pen.

If I'm remembering correctly these kits came with 8v-71s. Did you scratch build the engine?

I took it out of the KW123 kit going to put the oil slinger in the Cabover KW. I did notice one thing I have to do is move the filters down on the block being this is in a conventional

I have one of these in my stash I built years ago. I really enjoyed the build of this kit, be nice to see some reissues. Looks great and the kit bashing is cool with the Cummins. Keep up the great work.

Today I found my old thread of this truck that I’ve been looking for several years. It just disappeared one day with all my other old threads now all my old threads are back again. So I’ll be updating on the truck here and updating on the Trailer on the other one I Originally was going to put a Cummins in this truck but opted out for a DD.  Here’s the updated pics.

I’ve put the ICC Numbers on and added the sleeper to it. Next is to add some Don Mills Mirrors the Luberfiner, paint the visor and add the Mudflaps. Getting closer to being finished.

Beautiful. What attracts me to this build is red over white rather than the usual white over red.  The white cab, hood & sleeper combined with the red frame and the 5 hole budds really make this sing…. Clean, smart and sharp looking  truck. IF I ever build another Watkins truck I will paint it like yours. Very eye catching and very period correct. Good job on this one , Lee

Had some bench time tonight. Put a set of Don Mills mirrors on added the intake hose to the breather Put the deck plate on. I dull coated the Mudflaps but the paint kinda crows feet on me think I’m going to just leave it alone at this point. I also painted the Fog Lights as well.  Next is working on the Fifth wheel so it will pivot and adding the Air Horns, Cab lights and painting the intake hose.

Jürgen thanks for the nice complement. Yes it’s like building the 1/25 scale but smaller. It does varies in some details like the 1/25 scale but there’s enough here to still make a good looking model. Thanks for stopping by.

Worked on the Pete this afternoon. De-Chromed the Fifths wheel and made it pivot. Then I Hand painted the Plate,Carriage, and the Fifth Wheel with Tamiya Red. More updates soon. 

While I was at it I decided to hand paint the whole frame to give it a fresh look since it’s been years since it’s been painted.

Thought I would post some more updates before calling it a night. Made some Air Horns out of a HO Scale Engine Bell added Styrene rod and the back of the kit horn. The kit horns are horrible 

Added some Don Mills turn signals by cutting one in half
