55pete351 Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I have built several of the AMT Peterbilt 352's and have been disappointed with the cab hinge assembly. Using brass and Plastruct I have tried different ideas but they look bulky and over scale. I have found photos of the front spring hanger, bumper brackets, and front crossmember but no luck on the actual hinges. I am hoping to get some pictures to try to create something more realistic to the real truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!
55pete351 Posted April 15, 2019 Author Posted April 15, 2019 Thank you Clayton! I appreciate it! There are not a lot of these trucks around anymore to look at like there used to be.
clayton Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 There long gone of the past. I got a friend that has a 65 sitting behind his shop,if I can get photos of it I will.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Here is a view from the front that you can zoom in on to get an idea.
55pete351 Posted April 16, 2019 Author Posted April 16, 2019 Thanks again Clayton, I sure appreciate it ! DRIPTRIOT71, Thanks for that photo it is the clearest one I have been able to view!! LOL! You wouldn't by chance have an under cab side view of how the mount goes on to the spring perch/rail??
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I PM'd you a few pictures. This is what I believe the other side of the bracket to look like. These are the best I have. I often use some "creative license" under cabs and hoods.
DrKerry Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Too bad you weren’t looking for a cabover KW! I could get a bunch of pics for ya! My friend has three of those but no Pete’s...
