David Lesser Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I'm starting to build the revel '66 Chevy fleetside pickup. During my research, I've see alot of 1:1 pics showing side moulding. But I'm unable to find a good reference for the correct profile. does anyone know of a website that might have this info? Thanks

David Lesser Posted April 23, 2019 Author Posted April 23, 2019 Thanks khils, that little bit helped so much thanks again
espo Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I added the body side trim to a Suburban I built last year. I used Platruct #90881 1.5 mm half round for the moldings. The size I used was based purely on "eye ball" and not knowing the exact size of the moldings. The lower of the two moldings seems to start directly in line with the vent window post and drops at a gentle 90 degree turn to run parallel to the upper molding. I used a strip of 6mm masking tape as a spacer between the moldings. The next time I do this I'm going to use a narrower tape since it looks just ever so much like they are to far apart. Most my not notice and no one who has seen the build has made a comment about it except that they liked the treatment. When I look at the body they moldings just seem a fraction off. I would suggest doing a lot of mockups before committing to gluing any moldings just to be sure.
