Used the Revell kit. I rounded the front fender to much at the wheel opening and will get corrected to look more like the real fender, will be droping it some while at it. Nor sure how much i choped or or removed from the deck lid when pie sectioned. Skirts will get extended downwards and quater reworked to accept kustom taillight bezels.

Well, he hasn't been here for 5 years so I don't think we'll ever know.

I guess this is a Ghost from Christmas Past ?. Maybe we can wake him up. The work on this is really nice. The work on the trunk lid is of particular interest to me. I am considering a custom Fleetline with a chop. The trunk is the big problem. So I ask myself "what would Jesus do ?" I think the answer may be here in these photos. ?

Pretty sure he is active on social media, seem to recall seeing his name in some groups I'm in.

If he send him a message he should get an email notifying him someone is trying to reach him here and maybe he'll come back.

Trunk lids were often "pancaked" on customs. This got the profile a lot lower.

Yeah, Bob, this is an interesting project. It looks to me that Jesus had it nailed. I sure would like to see more of the construction details but there's enough here to point the way for me. This sort of work is what I enjoy the most.  I am aware of the "pancaking" technique, but making that happen in styrene is a real "learn-as-you -go" thing. I think I understand how he did it from the photos, but I sure would like to see more details. On a Fleetline the trick is getting it all to flow correctly and the trunk becomes the focus of that. Sam Barris had it down cold.

Agreed! I think I recall reading somewhere that Sam Barris had made ALOT of cuts to get the trunk on his Buick to flow to the way he wanted. It was SO much work he said he would never do another one (lol) which I dont think he ever did. Like you I also want to try chopping a 51 Chevy Fleetline. I've seen a couple of 1:1 cars and models that were chopped successfully, but am still a bit intimidated by that trunk area. I have some confidence in my skillset to do it, and I have a general sense on how to proceed, but I would like to have a fairly solid direction before I start. I only have one AMT kit in my stash to play with! :)

You can likely find a how-to article online. Plastic kits are pretty thick in scale  but doable I'm sure.

Looks great the patience you guys have on some of these projects blows my mind.

Sometimes what you have to do is say "_ _ _ _  it" and start cutting ? (but I don't recommend it ?.)
