mariojr Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Can I use a regular air filter? Or do I even need a filter? A buddy gave me spray booth but with no filter
kitbash1 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I use a 16X20 furnace filter in my spray booth. Just messure the space where the filter should go on your booth so you know the size you need. And yes you need a filter for your booth.
espo Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Check around at the local Home Depot or Lowe's type stores in there furnace filter area for posable air filters. I got mine at an ACE Hardware store, they had some cut to size material that works fine and cost very little.
Dave G. Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 You want a filter to catch the heavy particles before going through the fan or the fan will get coated more and more till it becomes ineffective. You don't need the fine mesh expensive filters but the more open weave , as was mentioned you can buy a roll and cut it to fit even. But they also sell the rectangular ones, like a 5 pack for $8 or something like that. I think the mesh is probably fiberglass strands, mine are green, some are blue.

I use cut-to-fit window air conditioner filter material as my pre-filter.
