TonyK Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Always thought this was an interesting race series and I think there were a few kits of these many years ago. Were the kits any good? Never see them available anywhere so guessing they weren't big sellers or not done well. Asking you truck experts as I don't do trucks but would build a racing version if I were to find one and it was actually a race truck and not just a regular truck with decals.
Force Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 (edited) Revell Germany did a couple race only truck kits from the European Truck Racing Series in the 90's. The Mercedes-Benz 1450 LS came in 1991, two kits with decals to do two versions #7536 S Parrish or G Mekle and #7535 Th Hegmann or J Krasznai. The MAN Phoenix came in 1992, same there, two kits with decals to do two versions each, #7544 G Körber or M Santos and #7540 C Göransson or R Schmitt. I don't think any of them were reissued but you might find one on ebay. Edited August 3, 2019 by Force
TonyK Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 Thanks for all the info. I have never bought anything from ebay and most likely never will. Figure I don't need something bad enough to dive into that place.

I agree, have been on Ebay since April 2005 and bought a lot of stuff their, model related and other things. Never really had any problems.
Force Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 I have never had any problems with ebay either...but I don't like the Global Shipping Program they use, the shipping rates are too expensive and shipping calculations overall are a bit steep...I recently saw $12 to ship a paper sheet over here...it costs less than $2 to send one from here.

Yes the GSP is very strange in calculating shippingprices. Sometimes one can find one small item (lets say something like a CD or DVD) that has a higher shipping price than a much bigger item (someting like big scale modelkits). The prices have also grown a lot in recent years. Back in 05 and 06 I could often get something like a 1:25 car kit (standard AMT or Revell sized) for maybe 15$ plus 10-15$ in shipping, but now it is more like 25-30$ for the kit and anywhere between $20 and $30 in shipping and if it is the GSP the shipping could be $50-60. Add to the equation that the exchange rates have changed. Back in 05/06 1 US Dollar was about 5 Kroner but now it is about 9 kroner. Back then I could get a 1:25 car kit in the mail for about $30 and that was about 150-180 kroner but today I would end up paying anywhere from $50 to $100 and that is like 500-900 kroner for one kit. But I got a colection of about 500-600 unbuilt kits so don't really need to buy anymore kits, but I still do
