Hi Gents

Several years back I had an 1;18 Ertl Two Lane Blacktop 55 Chevy (& foolishly sold it on). It wasnt that accurate with Cragars instead of Daisy Mags etc.

Rather than pay the crazy prices they now are advertised for, I picked up the Street Machine version (more like the Graffiti 55 & yeah I know the 1;1's were the same car....) and will be stripping and rebuilding it. As its not arrived in the post yet, but I asume its got the AG front bench seat ?

Does anybody know of aftermarket suppliers of front bucket seats and big n little Daisy mag wheels and tyres ? Or any other 1;18 diecast that might have them ? I found a 67 Corvette with the wheels, but they are same size all round and the Vette cost more than the 55 !

When they first came out the the 2LBT version, I owned a hobby shop and couldn't give them away.   So I took one and painted it with color shifting paint - I didn't care for the movie car either really.   Sold it last year for what I thought was crazy money, for what it was.  Still in original box.  Just needed stripping back down or priming over.   I also had the same Corvette, but it had some issues.  If you go to a swap meet to sell and the window boxes sit in direct sunlight , the windows will get warm enough to start deforming (be warned).  Only car that ever had that issue.   but no one wanted the green vette then and finally sold it was well, deformed windows and all.

Not really helpful to ya, but I do have had these cars - look forward to seeing what you come up with.  I don;t know of another car with the daisy mags.   Plenty of torque thrusts out there, but not many daisies.   If you had a set of hte daisies and a set of deep torque thrusts, might could make that work - a lot of effort and money probably.

Greetings,

I don't know if it would help you, but a favorite and non-obvious hobby accessory for 1:18th scale aluminum wheels to reach for would be something called the Pegasus 23 inch Stepped Aluminum Sleeves sold as a pack of four with tiny sidewall tires intended for use on 1:25th lowrider topics.  If you find suitable ARE CP-200/'Daisy mags' wheel centers, chop up and adjust the aforementioned aluminum parts to come up with whatever depth and width of wheel you desire.  I've attached a picture of a Welly Trans-Am BOSS 302 with modified ERTL wheels with just plastic GMP outer lips to communicate what can be done.

Also, I've seen a resin transkit for the wheels in particular for the topic you've taken on, although they represent something old and acknowledged as out of production and stock.  For application it might be possible to find that which you require, although I don't have any solid leads to afford you to my regret.  Good luck!
