old-hermit Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I've been working on some 1/25 trucks lately just for a change of pace. I combined two kits to create the one I wanted. More pics here http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/old...hevy%20Wrecker/
GOTH KUSTOMS Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 (edited) As a towtruck owner myself, no a real one, the truck u built is just kick ummmmm? you get my drift, really nice detail, just awsome man!!! But out here in Arizona you cant have red lights to the front, only to the back, but a sweet build man... Edited September 21, 2008 by unforgiven
RadRidesByDan Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I see the combo of the Midnight cowboy kit with the cab of a 57 chevy pickup. That is a fantastic merge of 2 kits. well done
RodneyBad Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 As a Ex-TowTruck Driver (Fun job/low pay/Long hours) Great looking Truck. With one heck of a Push Bumper.
67PontiacGTO Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Dan u are close its the 55 chevy and the midnight wrecker. Look at the grill. 57 was completely different. Clutch
Aaronw Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Nice tow truck, not something I see very often. As a towtruck owner myself, no a real one, the truck u built is just kick ummmmm? you get my drift, really nice detail, just awsome man!!! But out here in Arizona you cant have red lights to the front, only to the back, but a sweet build man... Different states have different rules for lights. Here in California blue is only for law enforcement, in Arizona some of the fire departments have red and blue lights, in Oregon tow trucks can have blue lights (or at least they could 20 years ago) and in many states blue lights are for volunteer firefighters. Some states treat tow trucks as full blown emergency vehicles allowing emergency lights and sirens. CalTrans has some neat tow truck / fire engines on the larger bridges, I've seen one on the Bay Bridge several times but can't seem to catch it somewhere I could get some pics of it.
Scott H. Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 That is a nice build! It has me thinking about digging out one of my old kits and getting back to work on it! Just to add to the different rules for different states, here in South Carolina - Police are the only ones with Blue Lights, Fire / Emergency (including the volunteers) are Red, and Emergency Road Vehicles (Tow Trucks, Road Crews, etc.) are Yellow. Hope this helps, -Scott H. AKA Cpt. Bondo

Same here, but depending on the town, police are either blue or blue/red.
