Believe it or not, I got through the whole day without hearing "Werewolves of London" on the radio. Not a big problem--as a collector of Warren Zevon concert bootlegs, I probably have 50 different versions of it.

But here's a VERY cool version you might not have heard before. If you're a guitar nut, you'll appreciate seeing the great Waddy Wachtel (a co-writer of the song, BTW).

And with FIVE guitars blasting (counting Will Lee's bass), a couple of shots here put me in mind of an antiaircraft battery.

I think Bauhaus has got it hands down. More rockin' than spooky would be The Witch by The Sonics.

Slint's Good Morning Capitan is based on a scary novel. Some of the lyrics are taken directly from the book. I can't remember the books name now.

Chills Same album. Creep. This song was always kind of spooky to me as the lyrics are about a ghost in an abandoned house.

I hope this qualifies. Just heard it in the soundtrack of Barbarian, a terrifying new horror film now streaming on HBO/MAX. I'd never heard it before, though apparently it's not new at all. Pretty cool and catchy tune.

Mazzy Star - Ghost Highway.  Saw this band back in 1990 or so when they oppened up for the Cocteau Twins at the Keswick Theater. They weren't even on my radar yet but I cam away a big fan of them.
