kpnuts Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 Hi all well since my amazing missus is allowing me to model in the house in the winter she bought me a new modelling bench (yes I know it looks like a dressing table but that's just a disguise so it fits in with the rest of the spare room)
High octane Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 That'll work, as I remember building on the dining room table back-in-the-day.
stavanzer Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Now get a sheet of glass cut to fit the top. Or, another way of protecting it, use Masonite, or Sheet Steel.
OldTrucker Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 I started as a kid in my room on an old kids dresser for a bench. After zi was married it was on the dining room table or coffee table in the living room. Eventually kept what I was working on in boxes stashed under an end table next to my recliner and used a TV tray for a work bench. After all the kids were out of the house then and only then did I have a room dedicated to build in that is shared with the wife's sewing machine. The great out doors is still my paint booth although wjen we were in our first apartment I would stand on a board on the bath tub and paint them out the bathroom window! We had a very colorful screen!LOL
