jjsipes Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 So, I've been sitting here thinking about all the decals I have in my decal box and decided to get some cleared out. I grabbed the wonderful Powerslide 1987 Wrangler Monte Carlo set and a Revell Monte kit. Never a fan of Earnhardt when he was alive but, the racing hasn't been the same since, in my opinion. Went looking for color information and found that most people were using Rustoleum paints for this car. Never used Rustoleum on a model, was afraid on how it would react to the plastic. Decided to try it. Went to Home Depot and purchased Sun Yellow and Brilliant Blue. Prepped the roll cage and body and sprayed them both. Didn't turn out to bad. Had alittle etching and some sand scratches after first pass with the yellow. Scuffed and reshot the yellow, made a copy of the decals to cut for paint guide, taped up for the blue. Still have a few spots that need attention but overall happy with the results.
bbowser Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Great start. Every NASCAR fan needs a Wrangler car in the collection.
SCRWDRVR Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I will definitely be following this, I have that kit and have yet to build it....
PappyD340 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Nice paint, I have that set unopened might build it one of these days, I was never a big fan of him either but I greatly respected his talent and I have more unopened Earnhardt kits than any other Nascar driver, go figure!!
