I am working on a 71' Cyclone nascar and it will be red white and blue. White is the overall color with red and white sections.

What kind of tape can I use for masking the different colors that will nice crisp lines?

I found some Pactra trim tape at home, will that give me crisp lines? What about fine line tape for masking? Thanks.

I can't speak high enough of the Tamiya tape. All these are careful masking jobs with it.

Thanks,

I use 3M line tape. It's like Tamiya's tape but comes in thinner widths. If I'm going over a lot of edging or round shapes, that's what it's good for and for compound corners. And then I use the Tamiya for filling in. If you're worried about paint leaking underneath the tape, shoot a layer of clear over the top of your tape and it will seal it.

Like others, I give a big shout out to TAMIYA TAPE!! I've not found anything better for masking!

The fact that it's somewhat flexible is a big plus too!

Here's a few pics of the stripes I masked with Tamiya Tape...............

For wider areas that don't need sharp separation lines...........I like using Parafilm-----the somewhat opaque stuff you see on the Mustang. Some hobby shops may have it, but it can be found at Micro Mark, or through eBay.
