slusher Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) Marie Fredriksson died Monday after a 17-year battle with cancer, her management company has confirmed. The 61-year-old was a successful solo artist in her native Sweden before joining with Per Gessle to form Roxette, the act that went on to achieve global fame. The duo's breakout single was "The Look," reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1989. Another single, "It Must Have Been Love," became a smash hit after featuring in the soundtrack of the 1990 romantic comedy "Pretty Woman," starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. madhorseman Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) Sorry to hear, my wife and I had recently been talking about '80's music, and artists...and Roxette did come up in our conversation. So, I remembered when that video came on she would say that she would like to have her hair cut the same way. R I P Marie Fredriksson Edited December 11, 2019 by madhorseman

R I P Marie Fredriksson My wife and I was talking about the 80’s also because I listen to them 70’s and classic vinyl on Xm. We didn’t talk about her but she had a great voice and really looked great with that hair style. I was surprised she was 61. Seems we are loosing them really fast...
Cpt Tuttle Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 She had health issues for many years. Yet, this comes as some sad news. I always thought that she was very good at what she was doing. Rest in peace!
