SfanGoch Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 Sue Lyon, star of Stanley Kubrick’s ‘Lolita’ in 1962, dies at 73
Lunajammer Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 (edited) Yeah, she was magnetic and a good choice for that movie. The plot itself is a little disturbing, but also insightful about how an otherwise well meaning man can be led so astray so blindly. Edited December 30, 2019 by Lunajammer
ChrisBcritter Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Also starred in The Flim-Flam Man (it was her Valiant that got stolen): "They've stolen mah car! Ah'm gonna call Daddy!" And she was a biker chick in the unforgettable Smashup on Interstate 5:
Mike999 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 If you need a good post-holiday read, try "The Real Lolita: The Kidnapping of Sally Horner and the Novel That Scandalized the World" by Sarah Weinman. It's a great combination of a true-crime story and a history of how Nabokov wrote the novel. Nabokov always denied that real life had anything to do with "Lolita" (or any of his fiction). But he dropped a mention of the Sally Horner case right into "Lolita," so go figure. https://www.amazon.com/Real-Lolita-Kidnapping-Horner-Scandalized/dp/0062661922
