I kinda like the delorean, it might not have been the best car but the story makes it a very interesting one. And like everything else they look better on the ground. Besides just the fact delorean may have conned margaret thatcher makes it just that much better imo. The last lotus i liked was the carlton until a friend took me a run in his elise but I couldn't live with one of them due to the high sills

Cheers Matt ;). I get it. It was just my knee jerk reaction to your comment. As an Europa owner, I view the DeLorean as an over weight, under powered, pathetic and ridiculous door stop, whereas the Europa is pure, uncompromised driving brilliance.

?

It'd be interesting to know how heavy it would have been with conventional gel-coated coloured fibreglass for the body instead of an overall layer of stainless steel on top; I bet the power to weight and hence performance would have been noticeably better, and probably the handling as well. Given what John Z was "officially" trying to achieve, he'd have done better to fund and license the V8 Esprit that Chapman couldn't afford, and Lotus didn't build until a lot later...

best,

M.
