Those are some sick models you have. On the Silverado, I basically cut the inner door panels and removed about a quarter of an inch and then glued them back together. The only part of the floor that I cut was the tranny hump so that the drive shaft would have clearance. And then just made a center console. It was a first time doing this, and I am pleased with the results of it. I just turned the red S-10 into a roadster. Still needs alot of work done but it is beginning to take shape. L8R, James
george 53 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 The look good Dude! I like the way your chevelle wagon turned out! The truck looks real smooth, an I like the wip pics of the 40! Welcome to the forum!!!
Guest JamesDE Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Thanks George. The rusting was a big pain to begin with, but I am already working on doing another rust bucket soon.
Robbo Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Hi James, welcome to the forum from down under in Australia. The work is of an great standard, especially the rust effects. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Robbo.

L8R, James still havent made the cut ,but have looked at it till i go crosseyed... what about the firewall? had to fab new intake manifold for clearance and the firewall has me so concerned i'v been working around the interior and working on paint. thats about 95% done and time to get back to interior. <thanks for the tip on door panels though(and thanks for the complaments on my build) having lots of fun on this one.

The Firewall wouldnt fit after I bodydropped the truck, so I left it out, which wasnt what I wanted to do, but you can fab those easily. This was mh first time doing this, and I learned alot of things on it.

This was mh first time doing this, and I learned alot of things on it. you and me both on the learning curve, made the first cut on the interior ,going to try same method i used on the bed it worked out great there. not as mutch flat surface in the interior as the bed but worth the try. hoping to get that firewall in though, ill let you know bro.

Guest JamesDE Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I have some pics of the 40 Ford painted, or should I say weathered. And another project I am working on. This is Lindbergs 34 Ford Pickup. You can build it 1 of 3 ways. I chose to build it as a stake bed truck. Again, this one is weathered as well. Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think.
Guest JamesDE Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I have some pics of a project that I had been working on for a little bit. I used Ryan Silvia's technique on weathering but with my own twist to it. I think this turned out to be one of my best so far. Let me know what you think. I still need head and tail lights.
RyanSilva Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Fantastic work James! Love that cab!!!!!!!! nice colors, greens are great to work with.
