Did Chrysler have a 3 speed overdrive in the 60s

Recommended Posts

I am building the 64 dodge 2 door sedan and the weird side of me wants to build it having a 3 on the tree with o/d,I do have a a 3 speed o/d trans from a unknown kit and just need to find a shifter to add to the column. Going to use the dual quad 413 from the 49 Merc kit to power it,I like strangely optioned cars.

OD avail in a 64?  No

I'm sure there was a low performance 3 spd avail.

But....I'm not sure it was column shift or not. And it was probably only avail behind a slant six.........MAYBE a poly 318.

I know the early max wedge cars  ( 1962 -63 ) had a high performance 3 spd but it was floor shift only.

Ps......by 64 the 413 was long gone. Very early cars had a 426 max wedge. The hemi arrived early in the model year.

A 426 street wedge (single 4 barrel) was avail thru 65
