gks1964 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Anyone have any ideas on the interior, frame and roll cage colors!
MarkJ Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Just guessing, but it looks all flat black to me. Should look awesome when completed.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I would guess either flat black or bodycolor blue.
gks1964 Posted February 15, 2020 Author Posted February 15, 2020 I was leaning toward flat black. What Krylon of Testors paint colors would be a good body color match? Thanks, Gerald

gks1964 Posted February 15, 2020 Author Posted February 15, 2020 Thanks guy's. I'm working on a Nichel's chassis for this car. I'll post some pic's soon, to get some opinions. The more eyes the better!! Thanks again. Gerald
yellowsportwagon Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 You know the more I think about it I’ll bet the chassis was blue. The red and gold car had a red chassis.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Here is a picture of Rossi’s blue Roadrunner. If you compare the floor to the K member and suspension pieces I would say I’m 99% sure the chassis is body color interior would be the same aside from the dash being black

That makes a lot of sense. From what I can tell Bobby used a Tan colored seat in his Chargers? Does anyone have any good photo's, drawings or anything else of the dry sump oil system ran in the '69 Mopar racers. I think this car ran that system. Need a pic of the oil pan. Thanks, Gerald
gks1964 Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 Got a little chassis work done. I'm using the AMT 1969 Plymouth GTX kit for the chassis. Removed the gas tank and filled the gas tank opening and chassis holes. Added a piece of Aluminum tube as the base for the shifter and rebuilt the front frame and motor mounts. Started opening up the firewall for the battery and oil tank. Please give me any opinion that will correct anything else you see wrong. Gerald

Get the engine assembled including fan and belts and make sure it fits in there. I screwed one up by not doing that.
gks1964 Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 I will build a test engine like the one I'm using! Thanks for your help, this a great point the front beam may need trimmed a little. Thanks, Gerald
gks1964 Posted February 21, 2020 Author Posted February 21, 2020 Tim, Thanks for the heads up with the crossmember! I had to remove about 1/32" from it. Gerald

Thanks, Gerald orbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/magnesium-426-hemi-oil-pan- Gerald, I think this is fairly representative of the ChryCo dry sump pan used initially in Nascar
yellowsportwagon Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I just realized my pic didn’t load. I’m an idiot!? This car has a wet so nascar pan on it.

yellowsportwagon Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 That looks like the right dry sump pan to me!
gks1964 Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 Found this drawing of the Dry Sump Oil System. Posted if anyone is interested! Gerald
DoctorLarry Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Later model system (late 70's) 3 stage dry sump system.
john843 Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 (edited) Nice underside shots of the Roadrunner Tim. They show me that my last '68-'69 Mopar is more correct underneath than I thought! John Edited February 25, 2020 by john843
gks1964 Posted February 25, 2020 Author Posted February 25, 2020 Got the firewall cut out and the oil tank and battery tray made. I'm using the battery from the GTX kit.
