Hope all is great for you! Yes, Mark is keeping me very busy with these big kits. I am going to get a Shelby GT500 and a Porsche Carrera from him soon. These I can repaint and add detail. A little more freedom on these. Since they have been out awhile. I would like to thank Mark for all the kits and the introduction to other people in the big scale industry. Well Chris, I hope I can restart the mfh 935 again but so far the big stuff are taking up my modeling time. Like your Porsche and Ferrari! Great job on those.
Brudda Posted April 18, 2022 Author Posted April 18, 2022 Ok I had problems with the doors. I also forgot I have some parts that were in need of fixing. So you may not have this problem. This is very unusual for DeAgostini to have. Since I receive these kits for free, I get some return parts that need to be fixed. Well my fix to the door problem was to redrill the door holes on the a pillar to 7/32 . Had to hand file the hole to the rear of the car to a oval shape. Adjusted the doors to the rear of the hole. This centers the door and takes pressure off the door to the A pillar. The number 6 on the left door is off a little when you do this. But the door opens and closes very nicely. I rather the door works nice, than the number line up perfectly. Since race cars were never show cars, and things did not line up perfect. Here is the result. 1
cobraman Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Very nice collection. I am partial to the Shelby Cobra. ?

The cobra is my favorite also. But if your into historical race cars, this Ford GT is pretty cool. The shape, color and stance are perfect. I really look at these kits as I am building them, I cannot believe that this car was raced in 1968. It is so advanced for the time. I have to apologize because this car is no longer available at DeAgostini. It is out of stock. Bill( Mr Obsessive) is correct, if you want a big kit, get it because sometimes they run out of stock. The pandemic has really messed up the subscription kits. Ray, Glad you bought yours as a complete kit. Mark at DeAgostini is really on it. He is DeAgostini USA. He will try to resolve problems as quick as he can. I have seen him pull parts from his private inventory to help a customer. Pretty cool.
Brudda Posted April 22, 2022 Author Posted April 22, 2022 I can finish the ford GT. The remaining parts have arrived.
Brudda Posted April 22, 2022 Author Posted April 22, 2022 Just about finished. I really love the lines of this car. Received all of the rear parts. Tomorrow it will be finished. Maybe glamour shots this weekend.
Brudda Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 It’s finished!!! The pandemic ford GT. Took 2 years but worth it. I give this kit 4.5 out of 5. On assembly. Took .5 off for the doors. The shape, color, stance is a 5. Very fun build. I’m really partial to ford cars of this era. Matter of fact, this car is my favorite out of the ford GTs. One day a ford mk 4 would be nice to see. Cannot blame DeAgostini for parts delay. The pandemic changed everything. Even the parts on real cars are taking forever to get. Hats off to DeAgostini for keeping on track and finishing a product. And thank you Mark . Glamour shots comming soon. Thanks guys for the great comments. 1

I see they have the rest of the PDF instructions through #24 on the site, so I downloaded them to my hard disc. I see in those PDFs the rest of the body sections for it. I've still have yet to build I think #15 or #16? I've been so busy with other things that I've just been putting the boxes aside for now. I haven't even started on the Jag yet and they're soon to send #7 on that! ? Hello Bill! Finally received all the packs. If by chance you need information on the doors, I can help. Not a hard fix, but can save you dissembling it several times like I had to. And as you know. These are huge and handling these big things are a whole other issue. The fit is pretty good, the stance, color and look is a 5 star. What I love about this model is that it demands to be looked at. Very stunning model. 1

Mark supplied the decals. He is like the Elon Musk of models. Knows people all over the world. I think these decals came from England. Dash decals. Fire extinguisher decal. Fuel pump decals. Detailed out the carbs. Mostly sanded the seam lines, like on the exhaust pipes and some of the suspension rods. Added the springs to hold the rear exhaust on the car. As you know they are in the plastic and I could not let that one go. Not a great amount of extra work, just enough to make it look a little better. Oh , the dash switches I had to repaint also. Let me know if you need something on this car , I will help the best I can. You will love this car when it’s finished. Mark had me set up to do a Porsche Carrera, The Shelby GT 500 and maybe a Steve McQueen 917. Going to be busy for awhile on the big stuff. Agora has me busy on the Miura and I might have a few projects with them also. Crazy. Was never into the big stuff. Did the Toyota for DeAgostini and boy did things take off. Here are some pics of the extra mods I did on the ford GT. And a 1/24 2
