oldscool Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Trying to avoid having to look through my entire stash.
BigTallDad Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Don't forget that Florida only issues one plate and it goes on the rear.
oldscool Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 Hi Ray, nice to here from a fellow Floridian. I have lived in Jax most of my life so I'm familiar with the tags.I was hoping that someone could point me to a kit that came with them. I seem to recall a Revell kit that came with them but can't remember which one.
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 It might be just as easy to contact Mike at "Best Model Car Parts". He currently has 2 sets of vintage plates on his ebay site, (1970-'74 and 1975-'79) maybe more if you contact him. He does some beautiful stuff! $2.59 per sheet. Steve
Russell C Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) There's the Monogram Miami Vice fake Ferrari Daytona, not that those are of much use. Myself, I cheat by using the online plate creator sites, and then use my Mac's photo manipulation program to correct/sharpen the colors, and my obsolete CorelDRAW program to precisely size the plate image as needed. So far, my Canon inkjet printer and glossy photo paper spits out good enough printouts. Haven't tried yet to emboss the letters out from the backside using a dried up fine point ballpoint pen, though, but it might work to make a visible 3D stamped letter appearance.
