I was actually surprised with how many modern photos of this vehicle are out there, and how many variations exist. Mercedes-Benz did offer replicas of the Motorwagen for sale a few years back, but I don’t know how many were eventually built, or if they are still available. I have never seen a green one before, but there are bound to be several colour variations out there.
Justin Porter Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Probably one of the most nicely engineered examples of PE wire wheels I've seen. ICM does fantastic stuff in general, though, so I'm not surprised.
64Comet404 Posted March 23, 2020 Author Posted March 23, 2020 The model nearly met an untimely fate at my hands today, but I am still continuing the build. Even with the preparation of the spokes and wheel, I managed to break a rim, and the resulting fix left a gap between the halves. I definitely know which edge is facing down! I also managed to get some metallizing done today. I shot these pieces with SnJ Copper (old school, but it still works well) and a couple of pieces with Testor’s Buffing Brass. There’s a whole pile of sub-assemblies in the box, but still a long way to go.
peteski Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) I hope all is well with you Ken. I'm anxiously awaiting next update. Edited April 13, 2020 by peteski
