2zwudz Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 What size styrene do you guys recommend for added chrome trim when making a a vinyl roof.
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Smaller is usually better than larger. I used .010 x.030 styrene strip on my '68 Olds. I used the same stuff for the top seams as well. Steve
2zwudz Posted March 26, 2020 Author Posted March 26, 2020 Thanks Steve! Did you glue them in place before paint? Is your vinyl roof paint or tape???
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Yes, the trim is added before paint and foiled afterwards. The top is flat black paint shot from a distance and rubbed out with fingers. Steve
NOBLNG Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 (edited) I used .040 half round for the chrome trim and .030 half round for the seam on the vinyl. I sanded both slightly to get a half-oval shape. Edited March 26, 2020 by NOBLNG
