Gathering parts for my NEAPCO/50 Chevy idea.

I'm thinking "military surplus" bar-style tires would be appropriate.

Anybody got a source for such a thing?  Open to suggestions as to size, but thinking 16/17 inch.

I've looked on line, but my google-foo is weak.

Italeri or Tamiya 1/24 Jeep (Willys MB)?

The MPC WWII Jeeps do NOT have military type tires.

The two kits I mention do, but I don't know if they're big enough for your truck.

Italeri tires look the part. I just measured the wheel opening in my 1/24 “Armed Pickup” (Toyota Land Cruiser) tire and it’s 17mm, or about 17” in 1/25.

Has anybody built this truck:  401596270269?hash=item5d8100c6bd:g:kg8AADeserter ?

I'm thinking of grabbing one to pirate the 4 wheel drive parts from - differentials, transfer case, drive shafts and suspension bits.  Hoping to use them on the 50 Chevy project.

Don't mind modifying things to fit as long as they are reasonably close.

One place you might want to look at for tires is to check out Scenes Unlimited.  He has a lot of different sizes & styles of tires, including truck tires.  He also has some really nice resin wheels, including some to replicate truck rims.  Also, you might want to check out B-N-L Resins as he has several Chevy 4x4 conversion kits listed (he does other brands too) and has transfer cases too.  I've bought from both of these vendors and had good experiences with both.  I think the owner of B-N-L Resins recently had to shut his website for a little while for personal reasons, but I believe he is back up now.
