I've only touched one and a half shelves in the first of three display cases that I have for Aircraft and then there is another display case that is all cars and trucks. The boxes were the same size as their 1/32 WWII fighters and the one piece upper wings of the Camel still fit nicely. I had the Spad as well but it was destroyed in a move.
