i was stripping rhe chrome off the rear axle and springs. Is ther a better rear leaf springs and rear axle set up then the 57 cheevy that is used in this kit??

Which kits are you using for parts ? Are you by chance using the rear axle and suspension from the early AMT '57 Chevrolet ? This is the only kit I know of with a chrome rear end set up.  I think any of the Revell '56 or '57 Chevrolet kits would provide a better level of detail.

The kit uses the same chrome rear axle as in the amt 57 Chevy. Both kits are amt.

Any of the modern-era 1/25 Revell/Monogram Tri-Five Chevy kits can supply a better rearend and separate leaf springs.
