Smart-Resins Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Wow that is looking good! Now wheres the mill?? LOL. Jody
Peter Lombardo Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Great looking Bug, love the paint and the body mods, but I must also ask…where’s the Beef? Is there a gerbil or chipmunk in a cage on a wheel or is there a blown, nitrous injected fire breather going in there?
3men2s Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Great looking Bug, love the paint and the body mods, but I must also ask…where’s the Beef? Is there a gerbil or chipmunk in a cage on a wheel or is there a blown, nitrous injected fire breather going in there? ITS COMING !!!!!! Since there is no drag vw aircool kit nowere and the only after market offers are resin webbers and turbos, the rest needs to be scratch built...but since the beginning I new the engine was going to be the hart of this project, that's why I made the engine cover removable. the body is almost done...so now my next thing is the chassie and suspension. and I started looking for parts and is going to take more time and money but It will be done....
Geezerman Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Absolutely the coolest! I just love the look of the prototype 1:1 your using.
3men2s Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 USING THE STOCK BLOCK, I ADDED SCRATCHED BUILT PARTS USING PLASTIC RODS AND WIRE.....WILL BE DOING THE INTAKES NEXT.
3men2s Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 USING THE STOCK BLOCK, I ADDED SCRATCHED BUILT PARTS USING PLASTIC RODS AND WIRE.....WILL BE DOING THE INTAKES NEXT.
plastikfreek Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Lookin' really sweet......................I like what you have done so far. Keep up the great work!
3men2s Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) I was able to create the headers, using plastic rods and the tip of a straw... they fit good and look to scale. Next I have to create the intake and webbers from the same material..... I am a low budget builder, and will try to use spear parts or scrath build this project. Edited December 22, 2008 by 3men2s
cruz Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 WOW!!! This thing has really come along, love the graphics man!!
Clay Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Nice exhaust, but how will it fair against dragging on the ground?
Raul_Perez Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Nice exhaust, but how will it fair against dragging on the ground? That's why they call these "drag" cars!!
3men2s Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 A WILLIE BAR NEEDS TO GO THERE. PRO STOCK STYLE. DRAG BUGS HAVE USED THIS SET UT SINCE THE 60'S AND THEY HAVE ENOFF CLEARENCE TO PUP WILLIES WITH OUT DRAGGING THEM. BUT THIS CAR WILL HAVE A LONG WILLIE BARS TO KEEP IT DOWN TO THE GROUND
3men2s Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 HAD TO CUT SOME BODY OUT...BUT THE ENGINE COVER STILL WORKS AND COVERS THOSE AREAS.
3men2s Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 WANT TO POST SOME REFERENCE PHOTOS IN CASE SOMEONE WILL LIKE TO BUILD ONE.
3men2s Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Man, I am going so slow.....but at least I have not forgoten this thing. did some work this morning. rollcage.
CB Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Lookin good 3men2s. Love your headers and the 'straw' thing. Them straws come in quite handy! When I checked your thread the other day and seen the reference pix ---at first I thought you had super detailed your engine & @! but then I woke up and realized they were pix of a 1:1. How you gonna mount the engine? I'm building SKWIRLY 2, am going to scratchbuild a blown VW similar to yours, but I'm hoping to have 4 seperate pipes hanging out back. Gotta come up with some kinda frame based on wheelbase, front & rear axles, etc, and haven't figgered out how to mount the engine yet. Probly when I get the engine blocked up it'll help me see . Good luck, keep up the good work.
