Broke out a set of PPP wheels today. You guy's are right. The PPP wheels are much nicer and deeper! Thanks!!

Never trust a restored car to be accurate. Things are commonly wrong on restos. Find a good period pic for reference.

Gerald, here is the orange and white Mercury I told you about.   Now this would be sweet.

If anyone can shed some light on this car that would be great.  Darrell Waltrip in a Late Model car at Daytona or a Cup car owned by James Hylton and DW brought his sponsor to the car for that race.  Questions that need answers.......

More research this evening revealed to me this was a car Darrell drove in the 1974 Permatex 300 at Daytona.  Not a Cup car.

Trying to finish the engine and found a firing order drawing if it is of interest to anyone.

Most Older Ford V8's like the small block 260-302, the FE series 332-428 and the 385 series 429-460 has this 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 firing order.
The 351 Windsor and the 335 series 351 Cleveland, 351M and 400 has a different firing order, 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.
And finally the Flatheads and Y-block has 1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2...and Ford has the cylinders numbered 1234 on the passenger side and 5678 och the drivers side on all of their V8's.

I’m going to make an uneducated guess that this is the same car. It aged out of cup in 73. So it probably went down to the Permetex series. This was common.

Well got the Gold on the body. Getting the engine to sit level is still giving me fits!!

Testors Metallic Gold. It's a great color and a little darker than others.

After a week of running around, I finally get the engine in! Need to finish assembling the chassis now.

Finally got the Metallic brown paint on! Do the clear coat and decals this weekend!
