It is a sad day as we mourn the loss of Capt. J. Casey. She died it a Snowbird plane crash yesterday as the Snowbirds were leaving Kamloops B.C. headed to their next destination or their tour across Canada meant to brighten our spirits.

The Tutor aircraft developed mechanical trouble shortly after take off and was not high enough for the occupants to eject safely. Capt. Casey died as a result of the crash. The pilot is said to be in hospital.

Capt. Casey was the public affairs officer for the Snowbirds demonstration team and will be truly missed. She has been described as a ray of sunshine by those who knew her.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her friends and family.

Was so sad to hear this new yesterday.

Operation Inspiration was definitely doing its job. Watched the team do their Edmonton Flyover on Friday afternoon. Still awesome to watch.

From all accounts, it appears to be a mechanical failure at take off. Both crew ejected, but altitude wasn't high enough for shutes to deploy.

Very sad news. I heard yesterday that a Snowbird had crashed, but hadn't heard any details.

Thank you for your service to your country, Capt. Casey. You will be missed.
