Tom Geiger Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 This is what happens when non modelers look at something from their perspective. I was one of the people interviewed for that Wall Street Journal on the hobby. I spoke with the author via phone for a total of two hours. He was quite engaged as I talked about our network of friends tied together through the Internet and that we’d get together at national and regional shows a few times a year. He even called me back to go over some facts. I had high hopes! What happened? A fluff piece that had a lead in that made us look like developmentally stunted adults playing with toys and “how much are they worth?”

And yes, there are plenty of folks who enter a contest to hopefully win something, or there just wouldn't be any contest, just NNL type events. And there is room for both. Some egos in this hobby can be quite huge, but for those that only like to just show their work, most shows have Display only tables, or just get to an NNL Fair enough Jesse. I can understand all of that. Steve
